Return & Refund Policy
Last Updated: October 19, 2026
1. Policy Overview
We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. However, because our products are heavy, mechanical automotive components, we must enforce strict return guidelines to protect both our customers and our business.
By purchasing from AutoFit Motors, you agree to the terms outlined in this Return & Refund Policy. Please read this carefully before placing your order.
2. Return Eligibility (The 30-Day Window)
You may request a return within 30 days of receiving your item. To be eligible for a return, the following conditions must be met:
- Uninstalled & Unaltered: The engine or transmission must NOT have been installed, bolted to a transmission, had fluids added, or been disassembled in any way.
- Original Packaging: The item must be returned in the original freight packaging and secured to a pallet. Engines dropped off loose at a shipping terminal will be refused.
- Authorization: You must contact us at info@autofitmotors.com to receive a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Unauthorized returns will be refused and returned to the sender at their expense.
3. Non-Returnable Items
The following items and scenarios cannot be returned under any circumstances:
- Installed Engines: Once an engine or transmission has been installed, it is considered used and cannot be returned.
- Special Orders: Custom-built, special-ordered, or modified parts.
- Electrical Parts: ECUs, wiring harnesses, and sensors (unless proven defective upon arrival).
- Fluid Contamination: Any engine that has had oil, coolant, or transmission fluid added to it before installation is verified.
4. How to Process a Return
- Email us at info@autofitmotors.com with your Order Number and reason for return.
- If approved, we will issue an RMA number and provide you with the return shipping address.
- You are responsible for securely packaging and palletizing the item.
- Return Shipping: Unless the item arrived damaged or was the wrong part due to our error, the customer is responsible for all return freight shipping costs.
5. Refunds & Restocking Fees
Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
- Approved Refunds: A credit will be applied to your original method of payment within 5-10 business days.
- Restocking Fee: A 20% restocking fee will be deducted from all refunds for buyer's remorse, incorrect ordering, or fitment issues (where the engine code matches the listing). This covers the labor and time required to repalletize, re-inspect, and relist the item.
- Original Shipping: Original shipping and freight charges are non-refundable.
6. Core Charges
Certain remanufactured or rebuilt engines include a "Core Charge." This is a deposit to ensure you return your old, rebuildable engine block to us.
- Core returns must be made within 30 days of receiving the new engine.
- The core must be complete and rebuildable (no cracked blocks or holes in the crankcase).
- If the core is not returned within the timeframe, or is deemed unrebuildable, the core charge will not be refunded.
7. Warranty Claims (Defective Parts)
If you receive a part that is cracked or defective (e.g., low compression, spun bearing), please contact us immediately with video proof or a mechanic's report.
Warranty is strictly void if: The engine is installed without replacing the timing belt/water pump (for interference engines), if it overheats, or if it suffers damage due to tuning, poor installation, or lack of oil. We do not reimburse for labor, towing, or shop fees.
